Penalty for Loudoun County Reckless Driving Charges
Loudoun County reckless driving charges are misdemeanors. Loudoun County reckless driving charges are punished with:
- up to 12 months in jail
- a fine up to $2,500 (with a mandatory minimum fine if the driver was also texting while driving)
- mandatory court costs
- driver’s license suspension
- DMV demerit points
- possible enrollment in the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP)
Most importantly, a Loudoun County reckless driving conviction will remain on a driver’s permanent criminal record and cannot be expunged.
Can Loudoun County Reckless Driving Charges be Felonies?
