Why Did the DMV Suspend My License in Virginia?
June 16, 2022 by Jean Humbrecht
Driving in Virginia is a privilege, not a right, and Virginia drivers can lose that privilege quite easily. A temporary withdrawal of a person’s driving privilege is known as driver’s license suspension. Once a driver’s license is suspended in Virginia, the person needs to follow all of the requirements of the suspension, in addition to paying a reinstatement fee, before he or she may drive again legally in Virginia.
A person who is caught driving on a suspended license in Virginia can be charged with a crime which is punished with jail time, a fine, and mandatory further driver’s license suspension. For more information on a Driving on Suspended License charge in Virginia, click here.
